Heineken Regatta - think green - think racing - think fun!

Excitement mounts for the 32nd Heineken Regatta on St Maarten/St Martin 2012

Every year yachts and Racers flock to Sint Maarten for the Heineken Regatta, always the 1st week in March. It’s a Mecca for serious Racers and Fun Chasers alike. The show is well organized, run by the local Yacht Club, with hoards of volunteers and professional staff. The organizers expect over 200 entries with 2500 sailors and as many as 1000 support personel.

2012 St.Maarten Heineken Regatta dates are March 1 -4.
 
March 1 – is Registration day, with kick off pre event Gill Commodore’s Cup ending on Kim Sha Beach, then a welcome party that night at Port de Plaisance Marina
March 2 – The race starts, blasting around the Island St Martin to end at the Boardwalk, Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten, music and party…and Heinekens!
March 3 – Race depart from Great Bay P’burg and cruises off to the French side at Marigot, St Martin. Ummm, more music and party…and Heinekens!
March 4 – Depart Marigot, racing to Simpson Bay with spinnakers a-flying! For landlubbers, get a beach chair at Mullet Bay or Sunset Beach bar and watch them scream past. OK, the final blast of a party…Heinekens and GREAT music, a band so good they have yet to tell us who it will be. But looking at past bands…the Black eyed Peas, Marley Brothers etc, we know it is gonna rock!
